New Moon in Taurus: 5 Element Practices for Grounding | Yakuna Path

The New Moon in Taurus is Asking: What Actually Holds You?

Dear Soul,

The New Moon arrives tomorrow, Saturday, May 16 at 3:00 PM EST. It is a Super Moon — which means its influence is not distant or abstract. It is close. Tangible. Embodied. You will feel this beginning in your body, not just think about it in your mind.

This New Moon is in Taurus — fertile earth. The sign of slow growth, deep roots, and the quiet dignity of knowing what you are worth.

It asks a question that sounds simple but is not:

What actually holds your life, day by day?

Not what you wish held you. Not what you think should hold you. What actually holds you.

The answer is not in your achievements. It is in your body. Your habits. Your choices. Your breath.

Let us begin.

1. Your Direction & Intention

The Un-Asked Question

There is a teaching from A Course in Miracles that lands in my body every time I read it:

"Watch carefully and see what it is you are really asking for. Be very honest with yourself in this. If you will really try to do this, you have taken the first step."

The question is not new. But the willingness to actually ask it — without the ego's script, without the performance — that is the portal.

This New Moon in Taurus is not asking you to set a goal. It is asking you to examine the container of your life.

What holds you?

What sustains you when no one is watching?

What are you afraid to want — not because it is too much, but because you have forgotten that you are allowed to have it?

A Course in Miracles says: "No love in this world is without ambivalence."

Ambivalence. Two feelings at once. Wanting and fearing. Reaching and retreating.

So the question is not "What do I want?" It is "What do I want without ambivalence — truly, honestly, without the ego's drive to get?"

Your Metal Practice:
The Un-Asked Question

Set a timer for five minutes. Place one hand on your heart, one on your belly. Ask yourself:

"What actually holds my life? Not what I wish held it. What actually holds it?"

Write the first thing that comes. Do not edit. Do not judge. Just let it land.

Then ask:

"What am I afraid to want? Not because it is too big — but because I have forgotten I am allowed to have it?"

Hold the question. Do not force the answer.

This is the seed.

2. Emotion your Creative Energy in Motion

Your Body is the Compass

The astrologer Sabrina Lynn describes this week as a "bone-crushing" time for old containers — the structures that were never yours, the measures of "enough" that you borrowed from someone else.

Whether or not you feel the intensity in the world, you may feel it in your body. The throat that learned to stay silent. The pelvis that went numb. The chest that learned to hold everything in.

Taurus energy is not abstract. It is concrete. Your body is not the enemy of your spirit. It is the compass. It knows what nourishes and what drains.

A Course in Miracles says: "This need not be."

Not as a command to fix yourself. As an invitation: What if the heaviness you are carrying was never yours to carry? What if you could put it down — not by force, but by presence?

A Water Practice: Locating the Fissure

Before bed tonight, place both hands on your body—one on your belly, one on your chest. Breathe slowly. Ask silently:

"Where in my body do I feel the energy is going to explode? Where do I feel that I am holding beyond my true capacity?"

Do not try to fix it. Simply feel it. Let your hands hold the territory. Whisper:

"I am here with you. I am not leaving. This pattern of holding on my own everything is not my failure—it is the map of where my peace is when I let go of what is not mine."

This is the beginning of the container re-forming. Not by force. By presence.

3. Your Vital Expression

The Seed That Seeks to Grow

Taurus is slow. It does not rush. The seed you plant today is not for next week. It is for the season. It is for the life you are willing to live slowly.

Steve Judd, an astrologer I follow, points to May 17-19 as a window of "joyous breakthroughs" — fresh communication, new inventions, clarity emerging from the chaos. Not because the world has calmed down, but because you have chosen to see differently.

A Course in Miracles says: "Love will enter immediately into any mind that truly wants it."

Not after you fix yourself. Not after you become worthy. Immediately. The moment you truly want it.

So what wants to be expressed now that the old containers are cracking? Not the perfect version. Not the one that has it all figured out. Just the real one. The one that is still becoming.

🌳 Your Wood Practice: The Tiny Yes
For the next week, once a day, choose the tiny thing that sparks a flicker of "yes" in your body. It must be so small it feels almost silly.
Examples:
- "I will consider challenging feedback to be at least 2% true" what will open for me if I say yes to this?
- "I will spend 60 seconds doing something that brings me conscious pleasure — this is not a escape, or practical task, just pleasure."
- "I will name one inner state I genuinely want, without apologizing for it."
This is not about performance. This is about proving to your nervous system: the life force still lives here and I can bring it about and express it freely.

4. Choosing Aligned Action

Pleasure as Intelligence

I read something this past week about this Super Moon that stirred me deeply:

"Taurus works with conscious pleasure. Enjoyment becomes a way to experience intelligence and knowing."

Pleasure is not indulgence. It is intelligence.

When we are truly aligned, we nourish pleasure that lasts — not fleeting, but sustaining. Not the immediate hit of a dessert or a temporary escape. It is the pleasure of nourishing body and soul over time — not for ephemeral moments, but for the long arc.

The body knows what nourishes. The question is: are you listening?

A Course in Miracles says: "You can be as vigilant against the ego's dictates as for them."

The ego says: Achieve. Perform. Prove. You are not enough yet.
The spirit says: Rest. Receive. Enjoy. You are already what you have been seeking.

This New Moon does not ask you to do more. It asks you to choose differently. One small ember of conscious pleasure. One choice to nourish instead of numb. One breath before the fire of reaction.

Your Fire Practice: The Single Ember

From your inquiry in Step 1 (Metal), derive one tiny, non-negotiable action you can take daily for the next 30 days. It must be so small it feels effortless.

But this time, let it be a pleasure, not a discipline.

Examples:

  • "I will drink one glass of water slowly, tasting it, before my coffee."
  • "I will put my phone down for 10 minutes and feel the sun on my face."
  • "I will say no to one thing that drains me, without explaining why."

This is the structure that sets your spirit free. Not because you are controlling yourself — but because you are choosing yourself.

5. Nurturing Embodiment

The Body is the Portal

This Super Moon is not "sweet and gentle." It is held by the fierce feminine — the wisdom that is not gentle but true. It asks: What are you willing to let die so something real can live?

The answer is not in your mind. It is in your body.

One way to access this energy is to move the emotion through your body — dance, breathwork, shaking. Do not just think about it. Feel it. Your mind will lie. Your body will not.

A Course in Miracles says: "You are a mirror of truth, in which God Himself shines."

Not after you fix yourself. Not after you become worthy. Now. You are already the mirror. The question is: are you willing to wipe away the fog?

🌍 Your Earth Practice: The Root
Each morning for the next lunar cycle, before you check your phone, place your bare feet on the floor (or ground, if possible).
Inhale from the bottom of your spine, hold your breath at the crown then bring your inhale down through the front of your body into your pelvis — repeat 3 times.
The intention is to root, the earth element in the body. Say silently:
"I am here. I have substance. I am Peace. I am a tuning fork. My Grounded Presence is a gift to the world."
This is not poetic. It is physiological. You are telling your nervous system: the old container is cracking, and I am safe. I am here. I am enough.

This Cycle Will Take Months

The Super Moon in Taurus opens a portal that does not close until the Full Moon in Taurus on October 25-26, 2026. What you plant now is not for next week. It is for the season. It is for the life you are willing to live slowly, consciously, with your feet on the earth and your hand on your heart.

A Course in Miracles says: "This need not be."

Not as a command. As an invitation.

Whatever you are carrying that feels heavy, that feels like failure, that feels like it will never change — this need not be. Not because you will fix it overnight. But because you are willing to see it differently. You are willing to ask: What am I actually asking for? You are willing to want without ambivalence.

That is the first step. And it is enough.

A Sacred Offering for Your Space

Before I close, I want to share something from a recent session that touched me deeply.

A client of mine was moving into a new apartment. She said to me: "I would not wear someone else's dirty clothes. Why would I move into a space that still holds the energy of everyone who lived here before me?"

That landed in my body. She was right.

So the night before she moved in — while the apartment was still empty — we worked together. We cleansed the space with sage and palo santo. We rang the chime in every corner. We used crystal bowls and dowsing rods to feel where the energy was stuck and where it was already light. We lit a candle and sat in silence, letting her intention — her vibration, her name, her energy — land in the walls, the floors, the windows.

By the end, the apartment did not feel empty. It felt waiting. For her. For her life. For her next chapter.

She moved in the next day, and she told me later: "It feels like mine. Not like I am borrowing it. Like it was always mine."

I am offering this to you.

Not just for new homes. For any space that holds you:

  • A new apartment or house — so you start fresh, not carrying what came before
  • A home that has been through a lot — illness, grief, conflict, transition
  • A space after renovations — when many people have been in and out, leaving their energy behind
  • A room you want to reclaim — a home office, a bedroom, a creative space

It is not about superstition. It is about intention. The same way you would not wear someone else's worn clothes, you do not need to live in someone else's energetic residue.

How it works: I come to your space. We cleanse together. We align the energy with your intention. You leave feeling lighter — and your space feels like yours.

Investment: $150 for a standard session (up to 60 minutes, depending on space size). Sliding scale available — just ask.

To book: Reply to this email with "SPACE CLEANSE" and let me know what you are holding.

This is an invitation for you, too. I am also available to craft personalized ceremonies or special gift boxes for your life's sacred moments:

  • Celebrating birthdays, transitions, or intentions with a woven tapestry of sound and ritual.
  • Creating a unique family or community gathering rooted in somatic experience.

If you have a vision for a moment that deserves sacred attention, please reach out. Let's co-create something meaningful.

A Final, Heartfelt Note

The New Moon is tomorrow at 3:00 PM EST. You do not need to do the whole newsletter practice today. Just pick one — the Metal question, the Water breath, the Wood yes, the Fire ember, the Earth root.

One practice. That is enough.

The seed does not become a tree overnight. It becomes a root first. Small. Hidden. Underground.

That is where you are. And that is exactly where you need to be.

You are a seed in fertile earth. The old container is cracking — not because you failed, but because it was never your true self to begin with.

Let it crack. Let it fall. Let the earth hold you.

And when you are ready, plant something new. Not for next week. For the life you are willing to live slowly, with pleasure, with presence, with your feet on the ground and your heart open.

Walk gently in this New Moon. The spiral is turning.

With Love,
