New Moon in Cancer: The Seed of the Root - Yakuna Path

Moonpath Newsletter - July 13, 2026

Reader New Moon in Cancer: The Seed of the Root.

Dear Reader,

There is a moment, just before the moon disappears completely from the sky, when something shifts.

Not dramatically or loudly, rather deeply, in the way that roots move underground before the sprout breaks the surface.

Tomorrow, just after sunrise, the New Moon begins its new cycle in Cancer. And it activates a question that is not asking for an answer, it is just stirring your inner waters:

What is supporting and nourishing you? And what are you ready to support and nourish in return?

This is not a moon of doing. This is a moon of being held, supported and nourished, by the earth beneath you, by the waters of your own emotions, by the unseen architecture of your inner life.

Let us walk through the five elements together, and see what they have to say about this threshold.

1. Your Direction & Intention

What Needs Clarity? What Direction Am I Choosing?

Cancer is the sign of home. Not the four walls you return to, but the feeling of safety that lives inside you, as well as the longing for it, if it has not yet taken root.

This New Moon is asking: What is the story you are telling about where you belong?

Mercury is retrograde, moving slowly, softly, like a hand reaching into deep water. It is not the time for loud declarations. It is the time for inner listening. For noticing the narratives that have been running beneath your awareness.

What beliefs are you holding about your worth, your security, your ability to be held?

Your Metal Practice:
Shifting Meaning and Purifying your Mind

Take one sentence from your inner monologue today. Just one. The one that says something like:

  • "I have to do this alone."
  • "If I rest, everything will fall apart."
  • "I am not safe unless I am in control."

Write it down. Read it. And ask:
Is this true? Or is this a story I inherited? Am I conscious of the impact of this belief in my life? Who I would be if I shifted this belief to a more empowering one?

This is the first purification. Not to change it yet. Just to see it. Become clear on the believes that are guiding the direction of your inner waters, your emotions.

2. Emotion: Your Creative Energy in Motion

What Needs to Flow? What Emotion Is Asking for Release?

Cancer is water. Deep, nurturing water. The kind that holds memory, that moves slowly and finds its way through stone.

This New Moon is an invitation to explore the emotions within, not to think about them, not to explain them, not to rationalize them. Just to witness them.

Your emotions are not obstacles. They are the current that moves you toward what you truly need to give attention to.

What have you been holding? What has been waiting for permission to rise to the surface?

And here is the tender part: some of what you are carrying may not even be yours. It may be the weight of your mother's mother's mother. The fear passed down through generations, whispered into the bones.

This New Moon says: You can put it down. Not because it wasn't real. But because you are ready to be free. You are ready to regain your power, keep the learned lesson, and let go of the rest.

A Water Practice: Finding the Rhythm of Flow to Witness what lies within

Place your right hand on your belly, and your left hand on your heart.
Breathe into the space between them.
And ask: What seeks to be witnessed?
Then wait. Do not force an answer. Let it float to the surface like a leaf on still water.

If something rises, in your inner awareness or in your body, you do not have to do anything with it. Just see it. Just hold it. Just let it be held by the water of your own presence. As you witness what arises, reflect back to yourself your own acceptance. Let the water of your presence hold what came up.

3. Your Vital Expression

What Wants to Be Born? What Is My Authentic Expression?

From the emotional depths, something rises. It always does.

This is the nature of the spiral: Water feeds Wood. The feeling moves into expression. The inner becomes visible.

But this New Moon is not asking you to perform your expression. It is asking you to allow it.

What wants to grow from this root? What new way of being, of creating, of being with yourself and others is gestating in the warm, dark waters of this moment?

Jupiter is in Leo now, and it is the beginning of a new 12-year cycle of creativity, confidence, and self-expression. Yet the entry point is not the spotlight. It is the root.

You cannot shine if you are not grounded.

What is one small, authentic expression that wants to rise from this new sense of inner safety?

🌳 Your Wood Practice:
Speak one truth aloud. Not to anyone else. Just to yourself.
Place your hand on your throat. Feel the vibration of your own voice.
Let the sound of your own truth remind you that you are here, and you are allowed to take up space.

4. Choosing Aligned Action

What Is My Aligned Action? What Ignites Me?

Aligned action in this New Moon is not about pushing. It is about blossoming from the root.

The planets are moving toward expansion—Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto all in fire and air signs, calling us to grow, to vision, to reach.

But here is the wisdom of this moment: to reach high, you must first grow strong and deep roots in stable ground.

The Fire of this New Moon is not the fire of the sun at noon. It is the fire of the hearth: warm, contained, the fire that cooks the nourishing meal, that holds the family, that creates the sanctuary.

What is one action you can take this week that comes from your deep sense of root and connection, not from performing or over-giving?

Your Fire Practice:

Look at your calendar.
Find one thing that you are doing because you should.
Ask: What if I chose this instead of being obligated to it?
If the answer is that you would not choose it, give yourself permission to release it.
This is not laziness. This is alignment.

5. Nurturing Embodiment

How Do I Integrate This? How Does This Land in My Body?

Finally, we return to the body. Always, we return.

What you have felt, imagined, released, and chosen, all of it needs to land.

Cancer rules the belly, the chest, the womb-space. It governs the place where we hold or release. The place where we feel safe, or not.

As the New Moon rises, I invite you to feel your feet on the floor beneath you. Feel the ground holding and supporting you. This is your root. This is the beginning of safety, your unshakeable inner safety.

🌍 Your Earth Practice:
In the coming days, find one way to root this New Moon energy in your body:
A walk barefoot on grass. A meal eaten slowly, with presence. A moment of simply breathing into your belly, feeling it rise and fall. A hand on your heart, saying to yourself: I am safe. I am home. I am held.
This is the seed of everything that will grow.

THE SPIRAL

"Freedom is what you do with what has been done to you"
Jean Paul Sartre

Forgiveness starts at the level of the mind. But it lands in the body. It moves through the waters of our emotions. It rises in the expression of our voices. It ignites the fire of aligned action. And it grounds itself in the earth of our daily lives.

This is the spiral. This is the practice. This is how we become truly free.

A New Moon Ritual Gift for You

I wanted to offer you something more than words today.

This New Moon is a threshold—a moment of deep interiority, of rooting before reaching. And I have created a guided ritual to help you step through it.

The Inner Home Ritual is a practice of returning to the sanctuary that lives within you. It invites you to:

  • Connect with the feeling of being held and safe in your own being
  • Release old stories about where you belong
  • Plant a seed of intention for what you wish to cultivate in this new cycle

You can choose to receive it in whatever way serves you:

📝 Written ritual — For those who prefer to read, pause, and move at their own pace.

🎧 Audio recording — For those who want to be guided, to close their eyes, and simply receive.

Reply to this email and tell me which version you would like. No explanation needed. Just one word: "Written" or "Audio."

This is my gift to you. The ritual is yours.

And if you feel called to bring this same intentional presence into your physical space, your home, your sanctuary. I want to share something with you below.

A Sacred Offering for Your Space

Before I close, I want to share something from a recent session that touched me deeply.

A client of mine was moving into a new apartment. She said to me: "I would not wear someone else's dirty clothes. Why would I move into a space that still holds the energy of everyone who lived here before me?"

That landed in my body. She was right.

So the night before she moved in — while the apartment was still empty — we worked together. We cleansed the space with sage and palo santo. We rang the chime in every corner. We used crystal bowls and dowsing rods to feel where the energy was stuck and where it was already light. We lit a candle and sat in silence, letting her intention — her vibration, her name, her energy — land in the walls, the floors, the windows.

By the end, the apartment did not feel empty. It felt waiting. For her. For her life. For her next chapter.

She moved in the next day, and she told me later: "It feels like mine. Not like I am borrowing it. Like it was always mine."

I am offering this to you.

Not just for new homes. For any space that holds you:

  • A new apartment or house — so you start fresh, not carrying what came before
  • A home that has been through a lot — illness, grief, conflict, transition
  • A space after renovations — when many people have been in and out, leaving their energy behind
  • A room you want to reclaim — a home office, a bedroom, a creative space

It is not about superstition. It is about intention. The same way you would not wear someone else's worn clothes, you do not need to live in someone else's energetic residue.

How it works: I come to your space. We cleanse together. We align the energy with your intention. You leave feeling lighter — and your space feels like yours.

Investment: $150 for a standard session (up to 60 minutes, depending on space size). Sliding scale available — just ask.

To book or read more about the service: visit us here and email me and let me know what you are holding.

This is an invitation for you, too. I am also available to craft personalized ceremonies or special gift boxes for your life's sacred moments:

  • Celebrating birthdays, transitions, or intentions with a woven tapestry of sound and ritual.
  • Creating a unique family or community gathering rooted in somatic experience.

If you have a vision for a moment that deserves sacred attention, please reach out. Let's co-create something meaningful.

Upcoming Offerings

Numerology Workshop

Last Month I hosted a Numerology workshop and we explored the energies of our family names (from our father and mother side). Ended up being part 1 only as there were deeper layers left to be explored. Part 2 will be offered in September. Why September? September is the harvest season. It is a this time of the year that the bigger trees release their seeds so what we plant now will have something to show.

If you register for the workshop now, you will receive complimentary access to the recording of Part One: The Foundation of Your Name's Frequency — so that you can begin the work early, at the pace that serves you, with the clarity that only time and reflection can bring.

No pressure. Just an invitation.

If you feel a quiet "yes" in your body when you read this, send me a note and I will give you details.

If you want to keep cultivating your inner rhythm here are my weekly summer offerings:

An Aligned Recommendation

Before I close, I want to share something with you.

One of the gifts of walking this path is discovering others who speak the same language, not in the same words, but in the same frequency.

I recently came across Barbara Wallick's newsletter, and something in it landed in my body the way I thought it could land in yours.

She speaks of wealth and abundance, yet not in the way you might expect. She speaks of it as something that cannot be chased. Something that is magnetized when your nervous system feels safe, calm, and grounded.

I am sharing this with you not because you need to do anything differently. Neither because her way is "better" or "the missing piece."

Rather because sometimes, hearing the same truth in a different voice helps it land in a new way.

If you have been feeling the call to slow down, to audit your energy, to explore what might be blocking your flow, or if you have simply been curious about how the same current can flow through a different channel, I believe her perspective may offer you a mirror that reflects something you have not yet seen in yourself.

Her newsletter is brief. One minute, maybe two.

And in that minute, she offers something that can shift the way you move through the rest of this retrograde and beyond.

If this calls to you, you can find her work here:

A Final, Heartfelt Note

Tonight, the moon disappears. Tomorrow, the New Moon arrives in Cancer, just before 6 AM EST.

Take a moment tonight. Light a candle. Or just sit with yourself. Place a hand on your belly. Breathe.

And cultivate the space within you to accept that whatever you are perceiving, whether it is grief or hope, longing or relief, confusion or clarity, you are safe and you can welcome it all.

This is your inner home. This is where the spiral begins.

With warmth, after a weekend of deep rest and full-hearted presence,
